The plant you see on the photo, a heartleaf oxeye (Telekia speciosa), is a real treasure! I know a place where it grows along a riverbank for hundreds of meters. Every July I visit that place and find plenty of butterflies and moths (not to mention other pollinators) feeding on the flowers. This time I encountered almost ten different species of butterflies, including the Queen of Spain Fritillary and Red Admiral. There’s enough space and food on a single flower for both of them 🙂 July 14. Uzana, Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
